This year, 2011 has been a great year for the
NHRA as it has been celebrating 60 years of spectacular drag racing for
all of its many passionate drag racing fans. This year thus far has had
a lot of fun and excitement with an abundance of outstanding celebrated
events as it continues celebrating 60 years of the exciting sport of
drag racing.
With all the 60 years of celebrations going on throughout 2011, the NHRA has had a variety of special events and fun filled activities in the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series throughout the United States for its celebrations. Some of the activities have been awesome as the NHRA brought back some of Drag Racing’s greatest memories by showcasing some of their spectacular moments throughout history.
Some of their highlights have included some of the best of their best drag racers from over the past 60 years. Some of the great racers showcased have included: Shirley Muldowney, “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, John Force, Don “The Snake” Prudhomme, Tom “The Mongoose” McEwen, Larry Dixon, Joe Amato and Kenny Bernstein just to name a few of the best of the best racers in drag racing history. And as the year has been winding down, drag racing has loudly with some fast speeds, been ramping up for the most famous race of all, the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, presented by Lucas Oil in Clermont, Indiana.
This traditional Labor Day weekend event will have a lot of activities and a lot of excitement for its drag racing fans. And as always, there will be some high stakes for the dragster teams as they go for the final chance to earn a top 10 position and qualify for the NHRA Full Throttle countdown to the Championship.
This Labor Day spectacular event takes place August 31, 2011 to September 5, 2011 at the famous O’Reilly Raceway Park in Clermont, Indiana.
