Fishermen and women get ready for Cabela’s
Crappie USA Classic invitational
in Mid August, and the upcoming Cabela’s Crappie USA Classic in
October. While this event may change dates from year to year one thing is
certain; it is a highlight of the year for anglers.
Catfish anglers have traveled from all around for the invitational Cabela’s Crappie USA Classic tournament, which was held on Pickwick and Wilson Lakes. Anglers in the tournament were competing for a spot to fish the Cabela’s KingKat Classic to be held on Pickwick and Wilson Lakes in October.
Once again anglers joined others, this year at Kentucky's Green River Lake for the Crappie USA Tournament in June for a qualifying event at the Holmes Bend Marina and Resort on Kentucky's Green River Lake. While the anglers were out fishing for the biggest catch children were also enjoying the tournament's kids activities like the Kids Fishing Rodeo. During this event kids, 12 and under can fish from the bank once registered. Afterwards, families enjoyed a hotdog lunch at noon, and fun with family and friends. This FREE event is a thrill for children and offers Great Prizes and Great Fun.
This year the Cabela’s tournament is held on the Kentucky/Barkley Lakes at Paris, Tennessee. All the anglers who've competed for cash and prizes will now advance to the prestigious Cabela’s Crappie USA Classic. This year's classic will be held October 12-15, 2011
Tennessee has a diverse mix of recreation to enjoy year-round, which makes it a great destination for those who love the outdoors!
